Our Message to the future to tomorrow

A stage recording of the annual “Fukkosai Festival”, which is held every year in Nihonmatsu city, Fukushima to assist and encourage the recovery of the city in the aftermath of the earthquake. Featuring jazz vocalist Ai Ichikawa and the choir club of Nihonmatsu Daiichi Middle School, they get together to sing “Our Message to the future to tomorrow.”

Born in Fujisawa City of Kanagawa Prefecture, she started practicing the piano and violin from the age of 5. After graduating from Keio University’s Environment and Information Studies department, she arose to music such as jazz, R&B, city pop as a female vocalist, and in 2009 she chose to study abroad at Berklee College of Music as on a scholarship, and graduated in 2012. During this time, she visited Greece as part of an exchange program, and came to appreciate traveling. Since then, she has been to Turkey, Italy, Palestine, Israel, Hawaii, France, Kenya, etc., experiencing the completely different culture and features of each country. (including trips made solo, she has visited over 40 countries)
